BASELWORLD is one of the most important fair in the world dedicated to Jewellery Watchmaking . Every spring, companies from all sectors of the watchmaking industry,  jewelry and gem put on display their new collections and innovations in Basel, Switzerland.

The most prestigious brands in the world compete in creativity to display their past and new collections.  Lip, watchmake since 1867 will obviously be involved in this major global event.

First visit at the Maison et Objets fair in Paris…

My First impression: the immensity. The whole decoration trade concentrated in 8 huge halls. The most interesting are those that combine the designers in « Now Design à vivre  »and the Hall 7 which includes the brands from  » scenes d’interieur  » understand « home scenes ».

Trends and patterns start from the two main halls with radical  and sometimes extravagant creations assorted with the glamor and style of great companies such as Kenzo Home.

The general trend is sleek and simple, geometrical shapes and basic materials. LIP has totally its place in this fair, where the reeditions are still valid (like the famous chairs « Tolix » in galvanized steel).

The meetings with the designers  from very different backgrounds were very productive.
The developments are organized around two main projects - a very feminine watch inspired by the design from the 50′s and and a very pure design that combines sleek lines and the effect of transparency.

Lip’s desire is to develop projects with strong and original concepts as close as possible to the brand’s principles and values.

Kuala Lumpur which means “muddy confluence� is the capital  city of Malaysia. It was carved from the jungle at the end of the  19th century. Unlike its namesake Kuala Lumpur is  actually a sophisticated tropical city in one of the most  delightful countries in the world. KL is rich with cultural diversity, rich in its past, rich in its present, rich with the lifestyle it has to offer and the glittering future it  seems to be anticipating.
KL is unlike any other city in the world. Much more than just a metropolis, it is a doorway to a new experience.

Malaysia can be considered as a real “Asian tigerâ€� since it took only 25 years to be recognized as a ‘developed country.’ So it is not surprising if  its capital city is so modern, with its huge avenues, lights, cutting-edge concept stores, its titanic buildings, the ‘Petrona Towers’, the highest in the world! Obviously, they are not the only architectural miracles that KL has on display. Places like the Sky Bar or the Istana Hotel participate not only to the feel of modernism but also to the halo of elegance and luxury found all over the city.
