Quebec is a Canadian province and its capital city bears the same name. Quebec means «the place where the river narrows», the river being the Saint Lawrence or the Magtogoek «the grand water river», so called by the Tuscarora Indians. Its relatively small size compared to the rest of Canadian territory might make some foreigners believe that Quebec is a small country, but they couldn’t be more mistaken! Quebec touches the state of New York and represents the link between the Grand North and the United States, a bridge between «Acadia» and the ancient Anglo-Saxon colonies; two cultures sharing the same border but constantly rubbing friendly shoulders within its capital city.
