Roger Tallon has passed: Portrait of a non-standard designer

Roger Tallon, who died on October the 20th was considered by specialists as the father of the French modern design. For him, the purpose naturally called the form. An idea that can be observed through out his work. That paradigm allowed Tallon to be responsable for some very original creations and design concepts. He was the inventor of a profession: industrial designer. We lost a visionary man strongly inspired by his time leaving us as an heritage with many cult objects such as television Téléavia(1963), the spiral staircase (1966), the folding chair TS (1978). His work was not limited to interior objects but also included major projects such as the TGV or the Corail train(1986). Finally he represented also the watch brand Lip and iy incarnated on of its strongest signs of renewal, its entering into a new area of modernism and useful soaked and stained with 70 years of amazing achievements such as the  »Mach 2000″ (1975) for Lip.

Hardly known from the general public, Roger Tallon, born in 1929 March 6, is not only the TGV designer but also the French designer who quickly made an international career. He is the one who will step by step establish the profession of industrial designer as a full profession.

Prisca Briquet, a new era…

Prisca Briquet was born the 30th of July 1977 in the South West of France. She is graduate from « l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts ».
After some studies in Economics and then in Foreign Languages, she enters «l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts et de la Communication» in Pau where she soon distinguishes herself by the strength of her style, non-conformist and contrasting. Found of design and graphic arts, she goes so far as to create her own studio and works equally on institutional or event logos, comics or ergonomic design. In 2001, she enters Lip and this turns to be a eye-opener for her: watches and time punctuate her projects .

The prince de Baschmakoff

(Paris, 27 décembre 1931 – Marseille, 5 may 1981)

is graduated from the « Ecole des Métiers d’Arts » and from the « Ecole des Beaux-Arts » in Paris.  He is a famous colourist and the first « modern » free lance designer for Lip. He made illustrations for some of the most important fashion magazines and comics and worked for Printemps and Witzig.
